The Story of Plan Forward
The Story of Plan Forward
The Story of Plan Forward
Early one November morning when staring at her living room wall, with coffee in hand, Dr. Anne Spear was pondering how to make it easier for school districts to use their data to drive their strategic direction. After several years of supporting districts across the nation on the development of their district strategic plan as a consultant, Anne had witnessed over and over educational leaders struggling to be guided by their data. She knew there was a better way to develop more accurate plans so that districts could start achieving real results, year after year, for their students. As she sipped her coffee, an idea was formulated. That idea became Plan Forward.

Finding Our Path Forward
Finding Our Path Forward
Finding Our Path Forward
It was in a small, dusty village in the West African country of Burkina Faso where Anne dedicated herself to education. Seeking to be part of a solution to have a positive impact, she joined the U.S. Peace Corps as a volunteer to support girls’ education. What she learned is that if a girl can stay in school, passing the exams to move on to the next grade, that young girl would not be married off to an older village man. The longer she stayed in school, the longer she had to be a child, before having children of her own.
The path of this company truly began in Burkina Faso. We honor the impact that quality education can have on any child’s life.
